 Show Information
 
LOCATION
Harry D. Jacobs High School is located at 2601 Bunker Hill Drive, Algonquin, Illinois 60102 in Chicago's northwest suburbs. Jacobs H.S. is conveniently  located just west of Randall Road (south of Algonquin Rd) about 7 miles north of the Interstate 90 Randall Road (Route 34) exit.

ACTIVITIES
Dealer's Showcase
The Chicago G.I. Joe and Action Figure Show 2009 will feature a large vending area which will include a wide variety of national & regional dealers of G.I. Joe and related action figure products.
 
Custom Figure, Vehicle and Diorama Display
The show will host a custom figure, vehicle and diorama display for
3 3/4" and 1:6 scales.
  
Videos and Presentations
Speakers, demos and videos on G.I. Joe and action figure history, collecting and customizing will be presented during the show.
 
Door Prizes
Merchandise prizes will be awarded to attendees during each hour of the show.
 
SHOW ADMISSION AND HOURS
Regular Admission and Hours
Show hours are 9AM through 3PM on Sunday. Admission will be $4 for adults and kids age 5 and over. Admission is free for children  under age 5 and all active military personnel showing their ID.
 
Early Bird Admission
Special early bird admission will   be available between 8:00 to 9AM on Sunday for $6 per person (no discounts) regardless of age.
 
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
For dealers and attendees coming from out of town, the Holiday Inn Express and Suites -Algonquin located at 2595 Bunker Hill Drive, Algonquin, IL 60102 is directly adjacent to Jacobs H.S.  The hotel has 86 rooms and 14 suites. Please reserve directly with the Holiday Inn at 847-458-6000.

DEALER TABLES/BOOTHS
GIJCC Chicago recognizes that travel and table registrations are often substantive overhead costs for dealers who attend & exhibit at conventions. Since the GIJCC Chicago Division is not a commercial venture, our dealers have found the cost of tables and booths to be very reasonably priced. We really appreciate the fine dealers who have joined us in past years and hope to see them and many more national and regional dealers in 2009. We will have ample space which can accommodate just about any size table & booth setups including your own custom dealer displays so please inquire.
 
Costs
Six foot dealer tables for the 2008 show are priced as follows:
1@ $30 or 2@ $50 includes 1 dealer registration
3@ $70 or 4@ $90 includes 1 dealer + 1 helper registration.
 
Additional tables (>4) are priced @ $20 each. One additional helper registration will be provided with every 4 additional tables ordered.
 
We primarily use cafeteria tables which are 12' long with seating benches attached so they bump out for additional space in front which can be used to display bulky items. There will also be a limited number of conventional 6 foot folding tables available as well.
 
Dealer Setup
Dealers may set up beginning at 6AM on Sunday with breakdown between 3 & 4PM.
 
DEALER ASSISTANTS
If you are a dealer traveling alone, please let us know if you can use an assistant. We can work with Jacobs H.S. student  organizations to secure the services of assistants for dealers to help with setup & breakdown of booths, tend to customers, watch the booth allowing the dealer to take breaks, pickup food for the dealer, etc. The estimated cost per assistant will be $100 for the day (6AM to 4PM) and must be  requested and fully paid in advance of the show. Please inquire when reserving tables.
